Karen Folster Lesperance

Karen defends municipalities and public officials who are being sued for alleged violations of constitutional rights.

Karen represents former employers, departing employees and new employers in issues relating to employee non-compete and non-solicit agreements as well as claims of theft of trade secrets and misappropriation of confidential information. She brings and defends actions for injunctive relief and damages. Counsels employers and employees in the drafting and negotiation of such agreements upon employment.

Karen represents municipal and private employers in the defense of employment discrimination claims including allegations of discrimination based on race, gender, age or disability, as well as claims of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Karen represents individuals and small, mid-sized and large businesses in a wide variety of litigation in state and federal courts, including such matters as contract litigation, disputes between partners or shareholders, breach of fiduciary duty claims, disputes regarding the rights and responsibilities of corporate officers and directors, construction litigation and mechanic's liens.
