OUTCOME: Won appeal of equitable distribution award
Award of equitable distribution was reversed on appeal in favor of my client.
OUTCOME: All financial awards were reversed on appeal
The parties have a severely disabled child who was always cared for by my client, the Wife. The trial judge limited the financial award to my client and imputed income to her finding that she could wor ... k despite the fact that she took care of the disabled child. As a result of the appeal, all financial awards, including the imputation of income, were reversed. The result of the appeal was much better for my client than what the trial judge ordered.
OUTCOME: Dismissal by trial court affirmed
I represented a former husband in the trial court and in an appeal filed by the former wife's former attorneys who sought relief in the trial court even though no action was pending. The trial court di ... smissed the attorneys' action and they appealed. The appellate court affirmed the dismissal of the action filed against my client.
OUTCOME: Trial court's denial of request for fees reversed
My former firm represented a woman in a divorce. We withdrew from the representation but preserved our attorney's charging lien. The divorce was dismissed after our former client died. We went before t ... he trial court to seek fees from the husband. The trial court denied our motion saying that it did not have jurisdiction to consider our motion. On appeal, the appellate court reversed the trial court's decision and remanded the case back to the trial court for consideration of our motion for fees.
