Stella, a German shepherd puppy that a Lakeland couple bought from Petland in December, came with a warranty on her health but began coughing and breathing heavily after she arrived at the couple's hom ... e. The couple took Stella to a different veterinarian, on Dec. 19, and that vet said he had seen the dog the week before when Petland employees brought Stella in, and that they should not sell the dog. Stella ended up at the Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic on Dec. 20, where she was diagnosed with parvo and placed on intravenous medication. The dog was then taken to MyPet's Animal Hospital, where she had to be euthanized on Dec. 23.
