In May 1996, Defendant leased a warehouse located on 136th Street in Miami. Plaintiff was contracted by Defendant to move various materials out of the warehouse. Plaintiff alleged he was standing next ... to a pallet to steady a load when a hidden piece of wood fell violently on his leg. Defendant claimed the wood was located in the middle of the floor and was not hidden. The jury found that there was no negligence on the part of Defendant which was a legal cause of damage to Plaintiff. Defendant offered $35,000; Plaintiff asked for $250,000. The Defendant was awarded $35,000 in attorney fees in post trial motions.
