Lorraine Marie McGrane

Lorraine M. McGrane is an attorney practicing in the Hudson Valley region of NY. She practices in the areas of Special Education Law and Family/Matrimonial Law. She has worked on behalf of children and families for the majority of her career.  Her previous experience includes special education law, matrimonial and family law, government, and commercial contract law, as well as advocate on behalf of people with disabilities. Lorraine has worked extensively to provide client-centered solutions.

Prior to law school, Lorraine worked with schools and communities on research-based strategies to increase protective factors against violence, substance abuse, and school dropout. Her work in the schools, as well as advocacy within her family, lead her to go to law school to advocate on behalf of children and parents for their educational rights.

Lorraine presents on the subject of the right of children with disabilities to receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education.

Lorraine holds an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Alcoholism and Drug prevention from SUNY Empire State College, and she earned her Juris Doctorate, from Vermont Law School South Royalton, Vermont.
