Jan 01, 2003OUTCOME: $1,000,000.00 Settlement
Attorney Michael Noone represented a firm client in a case involving an automobile accident, which occurred when another driver pulled out in front of the client, causing a collision. The client had n ... eck injuries and was found to have spasmodic torticollis as a result of the accident. Spasmodic torticollis (ST), also known as cervical dystonia, is a fairly unusual medical problem. This disorder is extremely painful and is characterized by neck muscles contracting involuntarily, causing abnormal movements and posture of the head and neck. Some people, such as our client, develop cervical dystonia following neck or head injuries. ST often hinders those afflicted from being able to perform some of the most basic activities of daily life, such as the ability to walk, climb stairs, carry packages, socialize, work, and exercise. One defendant initially offered only $20,000.00, while the other defendant never made any formal settlement offer. Just prior to the scheduled trial in this case, Attorney Michael Noone successfully negotiated a settlement from the two defendants for a total of $1 Million.
