This IRS Sec. 501(c)(4) entity began in 1985 as Dearborn Merchants Association but restructured in 1986 to Downtown Merchants Association to confront FL DOT's 17 ft deep excavation & revision of our 1 ...mile long business district on Dearborn Street. Then in 1994 its current name of Olde Englewood Village Association [OEVA] emerged to encourage & support Sarasota County's 1990's focus of design and rehabilitation of this South Sarasota County town, with beginnings in 1896. With the County's infrastructure in place and with TIFF financing, Englewood's CRA began to blossom and then flourish with paved streets, surface drainage, street lights and numerous other town-center improvements.

Structured FL non-profit, tax-exempt foundation in early 1968 to capably serve Englewood-community young people, including a 9.58 acre Rotary Club camp ground nestled along the winding Myakka River in ...South Sarasota County. Englewood Youth Foundation (EYF) serves as the philanthropic arm of the Rotary Club of Englewood, FL, in which it serves to foster and improve literacy, educational opportunities, community awareness, and valuable life skills for the youth of our community, so they may gain experience, life values and confidence to achieve their potential. During 2015 over $13,000 in college scholarships were provided to graduating high school students; close to $10,000 was given in support for food, shelter, clothing and school supplies for needy children and families; and about $3,500 for literacy and community leadership skills through various reading, educational and leadership camps. This foundation continues to actively serve these community needs to this day.
