In 2017 Gherman Legal filed and aggressively pursued litigation in the United States Dist ... rict Court for the Central District of California, styled Kristina Chiteishvili v. Eduard Akopian a/k/a Edward Hakobyan, Gayane Ovsepyan, Anaida Ovsepyan, Kevin Kachaturian, Vertifx LLC, and Vertifx Limited, case no. 2:17-cv-8711-JFW(RAO). The litigation was complex and in addition to intentional misrepresentation, there was alleged violation of California Uniform Voidable Transactions Act, violation of California's Consumers Legal Remedies Act, violation of Section 10(b) and Section 20(a) of the Securities and Exchange Act and Rule 10b-5 violation, and conversion. Gherman Legal secured preliminary injunction, and secured grant of summary judgment on liability on all counts and against all named defendants, as well as secured grant of several motions for sanctions for defendants’ discovery violations. As part of the main litigation, Sergiu Gherman also had to pursue enforcement of a subpoena in the Middle District of Florida. The trial on damages took place on December 18, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Judgment issued 1/2/2019.
