My client was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Five Kilograms or more of Cocaine while Aboard a Vessel Subject to the Jurisdiction o ... f the United States. He was the mechanic on a freight vessel that was interdicted in international waters by the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard found approximately 719 kilograms of cocaine on board. We proceeded to a jury trial in the Middle District of Florida. The jury found my client not guilty on the possession charge, but guilty on the conspiracy charge. We took a direct appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The Eleventh Circuit issued an order vacating my client's sentence on April 14, 2017. See 685 Fed.Appx. 761.
