I was issued a speeding ticket in February 2017 I was recently issued a court date in June 2018 is this OK ?

Usually you can if you did not request previously for it to be rescheduled. FYI< an attorney can go to court instead of you to fight the ticket.

Whatever you do, don't ignore it. There may be some avenues to fight this but not sure it is worth the hassle and/or expense.

If indeed this does not go on your driving record in NC and you do not drive often in NY then it may make sense not to fight it.

The typical statute for "parking too close to a fire hydrant" is VTL 1202b2 which carries a maximum fine of $425 though I do not expect that high...

It is a serious ticket but can be beat. Fight it or have an attorney who can go to court instead of you to fight it.
