Our client stopped approximately 30 yards behind a private garbage collection truck. The truck then proceeded to rapidly back up apparently because it missed a collection site. Despite that our clien ... t leaned on his horn the truck continued advancing backward until it struck our client's car. The driver of the truck informed the the police officer responding to the accident that our client rear ended the truck. The truck's insurer denied liability. Investigation revealed that one of the neighbors adjacent to the site of the accident had a security camera that caught the accident on a digital recording. The recording was presented to the insurer and the case later settled. Our client sustained a shoulder rotator cuff tear that was arthroscopically repaired.

We represented a laborer on a construction site that was crushed by a prefabricated concrete slab. The slab was green (not fully cured and hardened) when placed atop of two walls to form the ceiling f ... or the ground floor. The concrete slab sagged in the middle, twisted off its housing and collapsed down onto our client crushing and paralyzing him from the waist down. The case was complicated by the fact that the client was on the job and subject to tort immunity under the worker's compensation laws. However, we were able to secure a substantial recovery for our client under a products liability claim against the concrete slab manufacturer in addition to Worker's Compensation benefits afforded to him as he was injured on the job.
