OUTCOME: Prosecutorial Discretion Granted/Case Administratively Closed

Represented a man from the Lower Florida Keys who entered the United States without inspection nearly 30 years ago, married a woman from Canada, and over the course of time had 6 U.S. Citizen children ... with his wife. Client was placed in removal proceedings in Federal Immigration Court in Miami after getting arrested following an altercation outside of a bar. Client was transferred to Federal custody and held at Krome Detention Center. Client was granted bond nearly immediately and was scheduled for a Master Hearing in Immigration Court. I successfully persuaded the Chief Counsel for Department of Homeland Security to grant prosecutorial discretion and administratively close his deportation/removal proceedings which cleared the way for Client to adjust his citizen status through his U.S. Citizen child.

Represented a mother/ex-wife who followed her then husband to Key West while they were married because he was stationed here in the military. After the parties divorced, the mother remained in Key Wes ... t with their daughters. The father moved to a State up on the Eastern Seaboard. The mother became engaged to a successful businessman who resided in in a Western State. She retained me when the father objected to her Petition for Relocation, which she filed pro-se. I stepped in and represented her at the relocation hearing, and the Court granted the relocation petition over the father's objections.

Represented homeowners against their homeowner's insurance company in a breach of contract action where the insurance company offered them $1,500.00 to repair two rooms in their home (kitchen and bathr ... oom) that were completely destroyed by a covered peril. The damages included mold infestation, completely destroyed drywall , kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and the tile in both rooms had to be ripped out and replaced to repair the problem that caused the damage. After suit was filed and some initial discovery was conducted, case was settled for the full amount of the necessary repairs, moving and rental expenses necessary for the family while repairs were conducted, and their attorney's fees were paid in full.

Represented Plaintiffs in a lawsuit against their homeowner's insurance company who failed to make adequate payments to the homeowners to repair and restore their home after fire destroyed the exterior ... siding and the wooden fence along the property line. Plaintiffs were compensated for the full amount of their estimate for repair and their attorney's fees were paid by their insurance company.
