Leyla Aisha Kiosse

Leyla Kiosse counsels and represents clients on all matters related to matrimonial and family law. She began practicing as an associate with the Law Office of Margaret C. Tabak in 2006 and became a partner in January 2011 when Tabak & Kiosse, LLP was formed. Prior to that, Leyla was the Law Clerk to the Honorable David E. Christensen in the Fifth Judicial District in Pipestone, Minnesota. Leyla is admitted to practice in New York and South Dakota.

Leyla is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) accredited by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts. As a CDFA, Leyla helps her clients understand the financial realities of a divorce or separation by evaluating each client’s current financial situation and identifying the short-term and long-term effects of dividing assets and debts. 

A cum laude graduate of Albany Law School (2005), Leyla was awarded the Mat-Law prize upon graduation. Leyla earned her BA from Union College (2000), where she received department honors for Philosophy.

Leyla is a member of the Albany County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Capital District Women’s Bar Association (CDWBA), and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY). She is a member of the Board of Directors for CDWBA and is the Chair of the CDWBA Small and Solo Practitioner’s Committee.

Leyla is also the Co-Chair of the Legislation Committee for WBASNY. In this capacity, Leyla works with association members to review and draft proposed legislation on both the State and Federal level. The Legislative Committee also prepares and circulates position papers on proposed legislation, particularly with regards to the New York Legislature.

Leyla enjoys giving back to the community and dedicates time to pro-bono legal work. Leyla’s professionalism and contributions to the community were recognized in 2010 when she was awarded the Outstanding New Lawyer Award from the Capital District Women’s Bar Association.
