That statement, when delivered via the phone at 3AM is a violent shock. When it really sinks in . . . the fog has dissipated somewhat, you know your next decision is finding an attorney, quickly! You then discover that your first ordeal of finding a good lawyer is a trial in and of itself. I won’t g...o through the litany of “definitely nots” of my lawyer search and offer a couple extreme examples: one suggested he would “squeeze us into his schedule and be happy to assist us in a guilty plea for $2500, while another halted my questioning about his experience in DWI defense to question my financial capacity to pay his fee in order to continue with the discussion. Sheesh! Retired from almost 40 years in business, I’ve had numerous attorney interactions with varied results: 50/50 from satisfied to “what just happened?” I’m writing this review to share an astounding legal experience that literally saved my son from a criminal record “ball and chain” he most assuredly would have worn for the rest of his life; I met with Jonathan Cohn of Gerstenzang, Sills, Davis, Cohn & Gertenzang. I don’t pretend to understand the legalities of how he did it, although I watched intently throughout the process. What I can convey is my experience with Jonathan. During our initial meeting he presented the good, the bad and the ugly, in reverse. Explaining in detail the levity and severity of the charges as well as the worst possible outcome as he answered in detail every single question we posed and proceeded only when we were satisfied. He offered his experience in his past defense provided to previous clients and proposed possible outcomes concerning our case. As I left the building I truly believed we were in good legal hands. I said as much to my son, who was sorely in need of something to hold onto. In court, I saw Jonathan as a very active representative on behalf of our case discussing / explaining everything in the court proceedings. When necessary, we had phone discussions and questions into the evening so as to be prepared for the next appearance. Through it all, never an overly positive word, all questions answered, just as he had promised; we always knew where we stood and what direction was ours. When there were court papers to file, they were done; we got copies right away, never had to ask. When we were to meet, he was on time. When we didn’t understand what was happening, he explained in detail. Due to Jonathan’s legal expertise and defense plan, which included uncovering, pursuing and capitalizing on any and every tiny little legal crack or judicial opportunity afforded by the prosecution’s case, our case was dismissed. When discussing the case with a family friend, a retired attorney, and asked what I thought of our lawyer: I responded, “He was the best I could’ve ever found!” When my friend replied: “you’re only saying that because you won”, my immediate response was: “No, he did everything he said he would do, and then some.” That’s all one could ask for. Business experience has taught me that unsolicited advice is usually bad advice. Having said that . . . should you be heading into this DWI turmoil, I’ll advise you to spend some time with Jonathan Cohn. I genuinely believe you’ll find it beneficial to your legal outcome and your piece of mind.

Before, during, and after my case, Mr. Cohn acted, and treated me in a very professional, and punctual manner. He requested that I did, and went to a particular place to aid in the possible positive outcome of my case. Due to his advise, and a completion of certain tasks that he advised me to do, t...he outcome was exactly as he, and myself were hoping to reach when the time came of the law's decision in my case. Mr. Cohn is a hard working, knowledgeable, confident attorney who will do everything possible for one of his client's health, welfare, occupation, family, and life during certain lawful manners. I could not speak any greater for Mr. Jonathan David Cohn.

Mr. Cohn is an excellent attorney. He is highly knowledgeable of the law and how it applies to your case. Moreover, Mr. Cohn not only seeks results that are in your best interest, but is very responsive and supportive throughout the process. He is the type of person that takes a team approach with... the client and therefore regularly communicates throughout a case. To put it in perspective, Mr. Cohn never failed to return a phone call of mine within a few hours if not sooner- not often what you hear about attorney client communications. If you find yourself with the unfortunate charge of DWI, Mr. Cohn should be your first call.

Jonathan gives lawyers everywhere a good name! If I didn't experience working with him myself, I wouldn't even believe this review. He is caring, proactive, intelligent, informed, and always returns a call promptly. He goes above and beyond for his clients and will do things without being asked to. I... have never had to chase him for information. I have never had to wonder when he would call. It is an absolute pleasure working with him, and I have complete faith that he will do everything in his power to accomplish his goals for his clients. You might win, you might lose. whatever the result, you can rest assured he did his absolute best. I don't know that you can say that about many people these days. I want to clone him! In all my years, and all my experiences with attorneys, I have never met anyone like him. And for the record, this has nothing to do with the results that I am saying these things, it is because I am continually, pleasantly surprised by his efforts.
