Worth the money!!

Hello, I recently obtained Randall Kehoe as a traffic attorney here in Albany, NY. I was clocked going 61 in a 45 work zone. I was looking at a $700 fine, and a max of 4 points on my license. Not only did I not have to show up to court, I did not receive any points, and my fine was knocked down to $1...00. I did some shopping around and some traffic attorneys wanted $400 plus, and they weren't guaranteeing me much of anything. The only reason I am giving this lawyer 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had to call twice to inquire about my case, and to get the fine that my ticket was reduced to. Although, after the first call I was told of my reduction to my ticket.

Satisfied with outcome

While he did accomplish what I hired him for, I feel his office needs to a better job at communicating with the client. I paid the fee he requested, sent my information, and never heard from his office until the day the matter was taken care of. I would recommend him if you need to have a traffi...c ticket handled, but be warned - you will have to track the process yourself. I ended up emailing his office after 2 weeks of not hearing anything. I assume this was because this was a routine matter, but still - communication needs improving.

Good results - communication & process needs clarity

First the good: my ticket was handled and pled down satisfactorily. However, the process from first contact to submission of materials and going to trial, along with the communication about each step, was pretty chaotic. Phone calls are answered as "Lawyer's office", with no identification of who y...ou called, which seems odd - there's no indication you've reached Mr. Kehoe's office. Initial emails in response to my emailed inquiries of their office were blocked by spam filters and thus caused some confusion as to whether I had been accepted as a client or not. Once the process was explained over the phone (you aren't a client until they receive your PayPal payment), it was a bit more understandable. Once I submitted my materials - payment, copy of my ticket and my drivers license, and a form authorizing access to my driving record - I heard nothing more until I emailed a month or two later to inquire about the status of my case. It would be better to receive an acknowledgement of receipt of your materials and payment. Toddy is friendly on the phone, but the office seems a bit overwhelmed with activity. My initial call to their office featured my getting to overhear Mr. Kehoe redress one of his staff for some issue concerning another case, complete with a loud TV playing in the background - it was all a bit surreal. I was never given any updates along the way - each one I received was initiated by me. In the end, the result of my speeding ticket was settled satisfactorily. If their process could be communicated a bit more clearly up front, and there was proactive communication about the progress of your case along the way, I'd give them 4 stars.

Terrible Lawyer, untrustworthy, ill mannered and unethical

Hired him to defend me for a speeding ticket two months ago. Sent him all of my info and was told that he automatically asks for an adjournment to prepare for the trial. Took my money and I never heard back from him. Call him today and was told that the court matter had been settled and that I owed a... fine. Claimed that I never got his letter because I had changed my address (I have lived in the same place for 4 years). Also said that I would be in big trouble if I didn't pay the fine by the due date, which was in 2 days. Didn't make a big deal out of it because I still had time to pay, just said I needed to know what the verdict was, how much I owed and who and how I needed to pay it. He asked if he could fax it over, and I said I didn't have a fax. I said I just needed to info. He asked how I wanted to get it and asked if I wasnted him to fax it to me. I said I had already said I don't have a fax, he could just tell it to me. Then he suddenly got agitated and started asking if I was trying to fight him. I couldn't believe it, I actually asked him if he was making some kind of joke. He made some loud rant about how privileged I was to have him represent me, then hung up the phone without giving me any of the information I needed (and paid for) to avoid serious legal repercussions. Redialed him 5 times and he refused to pick up my calls. I had to report him to the NY BAR Association and then go through the courts MYSELF to find out what I had to do. I Still don't know the verdict, just the cost of the fine. No idea if I'm getting points or anything. DO NOT hire this man, he is unbalanced and obviously has no problem hanging his clients out to dry.

Hello my anonymous internet user. I see you writing in caps lock and I am wondering if you do a lot of yelling at your attorneys. I know Randy for a long time and that you are telling us here is very out of the character which I know as Mr. Kehoe. You tell us here that you called the Court however you were not able to find out from them how many points you got and what the verdict was? Did you report the Court to the chief justice? I am sure Mr. Kehoe and yourself got along before you hired him and that with a honest conversation you 2 of you could start to get along again. Good luck.
