Applicant obtained green card despite separation from abusive US citizen spouse

US citizen spouse petitioned alien wife. While the application was pending, the couple separated. At this point, alien wife come to us for legal assistance. During our case interview with her, we real ... ized that alien wife was a victim of domestic abuse. We filed an I-360, VAWA Self-Petition by Spouse of Abusive U.S. Citizen for her which was eventually approved. Thereafter, alien wife's adjustment of status (green card) application was approved.
