Cedric Severino got a great result hanging a jury 7-5 for guilt in a drunk in public case. Seems Cedric’s client (who was on felony probation) ran afoul of the Anaheim Police Department at Angel Stad ... ium where he was attending an Angel game. It also happened to be a first date for his client with a woman who, depending on whose side you believed, he either “lost†(because he was so wasted) or ditched. Though the court chided Cedric for his very creative argument that the Big A was NOT a public place, the jury was out a very short time before they sent out a note on that very issue. Over Cedric’s objection the court then had both sides reargue that issue for the jury. The jury still could not reach a decision and the tie most definitely went to the runner when the court kicked the case under 1385.
