After three years of grueling work, I was FINALLY able to get legal status for an undocumented woman who was arrested and put into deportation proceedings despite the fact she was the victim of severe ... domestic violence at the hands of her US citizen husband. She spent three months in Federal Immigration Detention Center while four months pregnant until we were able to win her release while her deportation case was pending. Fast forward three years and today we got her legal documents in the mail. Can't wait to see the look on her face when I present her with her approval documents tomorrow. Would do it again and again, despite the uncertainty of immigration law!
