My experience was poor

I had a bad experience with Phillip recently. Not his staff, but him. He wanted more money for additional services that were not part of the original agreements with me. When I asked him to just perform the agreed work, he refused. He was paid in full and I had to hire someone else to execute wor...k he was suppossed to do. Many of his emails appeared very cold and abrupt. This all happened during a divorce proceeding. There are plenty of elder care attorney's out there, I would not recommend.

The agreed upon work was completed for the client and his wife, sent to them as agreed upon, he paid for that completed requested work as agreed upon. He did not send back the signed documents, as requested and agreed upon, after multiple attempts to reach. Eventually he responded stating that he and his wife did not sign and return as they had gotten divorced, making the documents no longer applicable. He now wanted me to prepare documents solely for him based upon his divorced status, which I agreed to do and quoted the fee. He declined to proceed , wanting me to use the previous documents and just adjust them for his divorce, and do this for free. I declined to do that, he declined to proceed, not wanting to pay for that and our client-attorney relationship legally no longer existed. As he states, he went to another attorney who he then paid to do what I would have also done had he not refused to pay me. I am happy he ultimately got the documents he was seeking and that his Estate Plan is covered.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
