Underinsured Driver
Sep 29, 2016OUTCOME: I was able to recover a significantly greater amount of money for a client that just walked into my office looking for a second opinion, after her first attorney was happy just to make a quick buck.
Client was in an auto accident and suffered significant injuries. Defendant had only the minimum policy required under Illinois law. Client's prior attorney settled the case for the policy limit of the ... defendant and sent the client on their way, feeling good that he handled the case well. The fact of the matter is that it took the attorney less than 30 days to complete the settlement and get his 1/3 fee. The problem is that he failed to do his job properly. He failed to look at other potential sources of recovery, and do a thorough investigation.
