Joshua Richard Paultre

Joshua R. Paultre is an associate attorney with Vella, Carbone & Vinson, LLP, focusing on trusts and estates, guardianship proceedings, elder law planning, and residential real estate transactions. Josh regularly assists individuals and families in preparing for long-term care while protecting assets. Josh also represents clients in estate and trust litigation matters, including disputes involving fiduciary duties, administration of estates and trusts, and related proceedings in Surrogate’s Court. In addition, he also represents buyers and sellers in residential real estate transactions, guiding clients through each stage of the process from contract negotiation through title review and closing. His practice includes advising families on strategies to preserve assets, administer estates, and navigate complex legal issues during difficult and often sensitive circumstances.

Prior to focusing his practice in these areas, Josh gained experience in real property litigation, including foreclosure matters, both in private practice and through his work with the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York. During that time, he assisted clients facing housing instability and other urgent legal challenges.

Josh is a 2023 magna cum laude graduate of Albany Law School, where he was a member of the Science and Technology Law Review and the recipient of the John Alexander Memorial Scholarship. While at Albany Law School, he participated in the Pro Bono Scholars Program through the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, completing 500 hours of pro-bono service. Through this program he assisted in the representation of tenants by providing legal guidance in emergency situations including evictions, foreclosure matters, negotiations with landlords, and the preparation of financial assistance applications and other legal documents.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Paultre serves on the Board of Directors of Hometown Health Centers in Schenectady, New York, a nonprofit community health center that provides primary and preventive healthcare services to residents of the Capital Region regardless of income or ability to pay.
