This was a commercial real estate dispute between our client, Covenant House California, the tenant, and its landlord. Robert O'Brien, then my collegaue at Skadden Arps was the lead attorney; I was th ... e second chair. The primary dispute related to whether Covenant House California was entitled to the return of the substantial security deposit it provided at the beginning of its five-year lease. The case was tried before the Hon. Dion Morrow in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. After a two-day trial, Judge Morrow ruled in favor of Covenant House California. Subsequently, he approved our request for attorneys' fees.
