Gary C Fischoff

Gary Fischoff and the other attorney who he had work on the file, Laurie Sayevich Horz, over billed and were caught attempting to bill for services that were never even performed. Several thousand dollars in charges! Both Attorneys were never around to answer questions pertaining to the status of the... case after they received the retainer deposit, except when Gary Fischoff called for additional retainer deposits. Gary Fischoff claimed he needed the initial retainer deposit right away to get the case started, however, after receipt of the funds Gary Fischoff said we would then have to wait a few weeks for work to start on the case, since the attorney he was placing on the case was on vacation. Gary Fischoff is extremely rude, and he even told me to "shut-up" on the phone in front of several witnesses (who could hear his yelling voice). Gary Fischoff called and harassed me on numerous occasions just to replenish the retainer amount, even when there were still retainer funds in the account. He attempted to claim that the funds were owed per the retainer agreement, which was completely untrue. Gary Fischoff not only yelled at me on numerous occasions, but he also gave me false information pertaining to the case. Mr. Fischoff made false claims regarding settlement discussions with opposing counsel. I even have the email from his associate, Laurie Horz, apologizing for the so-called "miscommunication." Laurie Horz doesn't return your calls, and Gary Fischoff never responds to your billing questions with specific answers. When they were caught over-billing for charges that didn't pertain to my case, Gary Fischoff first attempted to justify the charges for several thousand dollars on reading a couple of emails that were sent to him. After he knew he was caught over-billing, he had Laurie Sayevich Horz call me back a few hours later to tell me that it must have been the result of a new billing associate joining the firm. As if the associate and the partner at the firm don't review billing charges prior to sending out the invoices. I hired new counsel to represent me on this case, and Mr. Fischoff has refused to furnish my new attorney with a copy of the file. I even received billing charges from Mr. Fischoff and Ms. Horz for time spent working on the file after their representation had been terminated.
