Replied last November 26, 2018Colleen, It's upsetting to read this negative review posted more than two years after I represented you in your divorce case. As we discussed at the time, this incident was a misunderstanding that had no effect on the ultimate outcome of your case. Nothing was stolen. Rather, on one occasion, when packing up her file after a court conference, the adversary inadvertently picked up a folder containing some of your documents. Even though the adversary would be entitled to these documents anyway under the rules of disclosure, this should not have happened and I understand that you were upset. I immediately called the attorney on her cell phone while we were still at the courthouse and advised her that she had collected the wrong folder while packing up her things. She responded that she had not noticed that she accidentally took the folder, and that she had not looked at the documents. She provided her assurance as an officer of the court that she would not examine the documentation, and the folder was promptly returned to my office and then provided to you. Your case was not impacted in any way by this event. As you noted, the Court found I did nothing wrong, and has since noted, on numerous occasions, my professionalism and zealous advocacy for my clients. I wish you and your family well. -Mike Meyers
