Wayne Carrabus

I am an attorney concentrating my practice in Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Special Needs Planning at Futterman Lanza, LLP, where I have been proudly serving clients since 2019. With offices across Long Island, I primarily work out of our Bay Shore office, helping families protect their assets, preserve their legacies, and plan for their future.

In addition to my legal training, I am also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). This unique combination allows me to bring an advanced level of technical knowledge to complex legal and financial matters, including asset protection strategies, Medicaid and Medicare planning, trust and estate administration, and tax-related issues. My goal is always to provide my clients with peace of mind by crafting comprehensive and practical solutions tailored to their needs.

Beyond my legal work, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. I volunteer my time supporting Bay Shore residents and run a complimentary monthly support group at our office for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, following the training provided by the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center.

I earned my J.D. from New York Law School, graduating magna cum laude and earning Dean’s List honors, and I hold a B.S. in Accounting from the University at Albany. Before entering private practice, I worked in corporate finance and served as Deputy General Counsel at Stifel Financial Corp., bringing a wealth of experience to my current role.

I am honored to have been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2022–2025), a recognition awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys in the Metro New York area, and nominated in 2023 for Bethpage “Best of Long Island” Elder Law Attorney.
