My attorney...

I am a single father of a sweet and kind 3 year old daughter. Unfortunately, the relationship didn't work out between her mother and I, and I knew from the start that it was going to be an uphill, if not, impossible battle for me to get anything more than the standard "visitation". Not only did Mi...chael negotiate for far more than I expected as my legal counsel, he was also an exceptional friend when my emotions got the best of me. These situations are never easy for families, nor the attorneys, but I feel extremely blessed, and I am forever thankful for mine!!!

Review for Michael Catalanotto

Michael failed to litigate effectively. My case quickly deteriorated with his counsel. Because of him I was displaced from my home and agreed to a temporary custody order that is not satisfactory. He suggested I get an order of protection after being the victim of domestic abuse and swiftly recomm...ended I lower it. At the end of our relationship he told me the order of protection was suggested to gain leverage in negotiation but was not about my safety. He also made agreements to the judge on my behalf but never informed me of these agreements leaving me in danger of acting against the judges wishes. Michael rarely kept meetings, rarely responded to emails, never furnished his cell phone number so I could not reach him and even billed me for work he did not do. He left me in the care of his uninformed paralegals. UPDATE: was offered financial compensation to remove negative reviews

We only represented Tracy for a few weeks, but in that time we provided the hands-on representation we do for all of our clients. We quickly negotiated a settlement which we strongly felt was in Tracy's best interest and which was better than her original request for relief. However, when it came time to execute the agreement, our client backed out and demanded the return of her already expended retainer, which request was refused. She then stated that if we were not to return the proceeds, she would commence an internet campaign against us. During our representation of Tracy, we had near daily telephone, e-mail and text message communication, including assisting with custody issues on weekends and Easter Sunday. We verbally settled the matter and drafted the legal documents necessary to effectuate the settlement. Contrary to what Tracy states, our office never made agreements on her behalf without her knowledge and presence. We understand that Family Court and divorce actions are difficult and emotional legal proceedings and, keeping that in mind, always strive to provide our clients with the attention they deserve and the very best service.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
