Lisa was on top of everything from the moment we spoke. Educated us on the rights of our child and made sure he was correctly placed and all services were given to him as my child with ASD deserved and was not receiving. Would definitely recommend to any parent who has a child with special ne...eds and can't get the school district to listen. Lisa will not give them a choice, knows the rights of children and genuinely cares and gets innolved. Lisa goes after the school district as if it was her own child. We can't thank her enough for ALL she did to put our son back on the right academic track to success and make the school district accountable for the bullying that had taking place. After 13 years in the special education system - my daughter went undiagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum - After my child old me she had contemplated ending it all - because she just did not fit into her school.... in desperation I sought out an attorney to help me. Lisa asked to meet my daught...er - after 30 min with her ,she told us she was on the spectrum - and strongly urged us to have an independent evaluation . After the evaluation came back that she had PDDNOS - Lisa fought to get my daughter the correct placement - in less then 4 months she was able to get the district to allow her placement where she flourished and received the support she needed. Lisa saved my daughter from a life of misery - Once we know what was "wrong" we were able to fix it - Now she is maturing and advancing - My family will always be eternally greatful to Lisa - She did what 15 years of dr and 13 years of education could not do = evaluate my daughter properly and get us the help she needed -

Ran circles around school district lawyers. Fought hard to get my child the services he was entitled to. Long Island school districts will only provide what they are forced to, trying to push children through without worrying if they are actually learning. Ms. LaVardera knows all their tricks and ...made sure that my child will get the education that my tax dollars are paying for. She also has multiple clinician and evaluator contacts and is able to fast-track appointments for emergency issues.
