I own a business on Long Island and have had a lot of experience with attorneys - all kinds from LI to the City. In my opinion, Ms. Lawston is extremely intelligent, professional and a great probate litigation attorney. She saved the Estate thousands of dollars with her expertise. She found issu...es, litigated them and our adversary settled because they had no choice. Its easy to write a negative review especially if you loose the case but that is not usually the fault of the attorney but because you have no legal recourse. Lawston's fees were more then reasonable and her legal services were exceptional. I highly recommend her firm!!!

I hired Bonnie Lawston in May of 2014 to handle a few matters and oversee distributions of a trust. Two months into my case Mrs. Lawston disappeared with my $3500 retainer. She stopped answering my phone calls and emails. Only after terminating her as my lawyer in an email did I hear back from her. S...he stated she never received any of my numerous voice mails or emails. I requested a refund of my retainer and once again I was ignored.

The ABSOLUTE MOST INCOMPETENT, CLUELESS and NEGLIGENT attorney you could ever waste your money on. Does not listen, and gives Horrible legal advice. Her incompetence cost me over $400k. I have spoken to many lawyers in her field and they all seem to agree that she is not very well respected by collea...gues. I hired a Real attorney to undo the mess she caused by NOT LISTENING to me. She should be DISBARRED. I can say more, but I am a positive spiritual person, and only writing this to WARN others. Ms. Lawston and her staff are very professional and caring. I went to them when my husband died. Every attorney that I spoke with wanted money, thousands of dollars before they would help me. The only attorney that sat with me and explained the process to me was Ms. Lawston. She took my case and a...greed to be paid at the end of the estate process. She did everything - she went to court, cleaned up debt and other issues, conducted the sale of the house and got all the papers signed at the end that I needed. She constantly emailed me every time something happened on my case. Her office girls are very nice and helpful. At the end, her services were not only excellent but reasonable. I highly recommend her office. You will not be unhappy.

I would be very skeptical of her. The only thing she seems concerned about is getting financial matters under way, she’ll ignore almost everything else. I had this lawyer for a long time and she had not once returned a phone call. I eventually gave up calling and started emailing her. She also ...expected my family to not ask important questions regarding a family members case. We ended up, doing a lot of work and submitting information to her. Leaing me wondering why my family paid for her services. Unfortunately you are stuck with her if once you hire her so make sure you ask as many questions before you hire her! 80% of the time, if she replied, it was through unexpected emails. Most of family’s emails hadn’t been acknowledged. Rather than resolving issues, She’ll cop an attitude with you and insist she is right because she has credentials. Oh yeah, She also expected us to send legal documents with Social security numbers on them and account information through regular unsecured mail. I wish I could have hired someone else or done this myself. My family and I ended up researching most of the things that I had in question myself ourselves. I can’t believe that she hasn’t got more negative reviews. When actually coresponding with her, My family found her very temperamental and rude. For someone dealing with the loss of a loved one she does a very poor job of being an overall professional. Its time for her to brush up on her skills or retire.
