He is an active member of the Elder Law and Special Needs, and Trusts and Estates Committees of the New York State Bar Association. He also sits on the Board of Editors of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law and Special Needs Law Journal.
Mr. Tilschner is also past President of the Suffolk County Estate Planning Council, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Bar Association and a member of the Legal Committee of the Alzheimer’s Association of Long island. He is also an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
A frequent lecturer on the topics of Elder Law and Estate Planning, Special Needs, and Social Security Disability, Mr. Tilschner has presented educational seminars before numerous community and professional organizations across Long Island and New York City, including the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association.
Mr. Tilschner has resided in Huntington for more than twenty years and is active in various community activities. He is an avid reader and runner, having run ten marathons including the New York, Long Island and San Francisco marathons.
