Dominick Derosa

My daughter was in an accident on May 2016 in the town of Massapequa NY. She was deemed not at fault. Based on someone's recommendation we hired Mr Derosa. He basically guaranteed a cash settlement for my daughter based on her injuries. They included torn meniscus in her knee and numerous bruises. Mr... Derosa was hired on a contingency basis. Whatever we collect in damages, Mr Derosa would recover 33 1/3 of the settlement. My daughter could not work for 1 month. She received nothing for loss of wages which should have been paid through no fault. To make matters worse she was fired. Mr Derosa provided doctors that his firm has used through the years. My daughter went faithfully with 1 exception. He never called my daughter with updates. Never kept us in the loop. I finally decided to call Mr. Derosa on behalf of my daughter. When I asked him for an update he said the defendant refuses to pay anything. When I asked what the next step would be he said we can sue him at MY EXPENSE! This is a contingency case! Why do I have to pay? When I told my wife she exploded. She decided to call him. When they started speaking he denied saying that we would have to pay if we wanted to sue. Three months have since gone by and we have heard nothing. I work for a law firm so I have dealt with my share of attorneys. I have never met a more unprofessional attorney. He is incompetent and lazy. I want to tell anyone who will listen to STAY AWAY from this so called lawyer! My only recourse is to help someone else! I should have known when he arrived at my home.
