I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to John McGrath. I found myself in an incredibly difficult and frightening situation as a single parent, trying to advocate for my daughter while feeling completely overwhelmed by everything happening around us. The school district was pushing to remove my ...daughter from her current placement and place her out of district, against my wishes and with complete disregard for my daughter’s special needs and disabilities. I felt like I was fighting a battle I could not possibly navigate on my own, while dealing with a million other moving parts. Then I found John. I was referred to John by another attorney in the field & had retained John for advocacy, including assistance with IEP recommendations and attendance at CSE meetings, and was extremely impressed with the quality of his work and level of commitment to ensuring my daughter received the services she was entitled to. John drafted thorough, thoughtful IEP recommendations and legal memoranda, identifying potential shortcomings by the district, as they continued to ignore my daughter’s diagnoses and deny her the services she was entitled to. As a legal professional myself, I have a high standard for attention to detail, legal analysis and preparation… John exceeded those expectations at every turn. He took the time to carefully review all of the documents and information provided to him, which were many, and came to each CSE meeting fully prepared and engaged. He was attentive, knowledgeable and focused on making sure that the recommendations and concerns were clearly presented and appropriately addressed. No one can prepare you for being on the other end of things as a client and as a parent, but John made sure to ease my worries. Ultimately, he was successful and ensuring my daughter remained in her placement and received adequate and suitable services for her disabilities. He was available by email, text and phone, including after hours, which provided an invaluable level of support throughout the process. John is thorough, dedicated, responsive and genuinely committed to advocating for his clients.
