Terrible expericence
We had a truly horrible experience with this lawyer – he charged us a $15,000 flat fee to prepare and file a Medicaid application for a very sick relative, then let the file languish for well over a year while medical expenses piled up around us. Replied last May 09, 2014We sincerely regret having this dispute; we take pride in treating clients and their families with the utmost of respect and dignity. The New York State Office of Court Administration determined this complaint was merely a fee dispute, which under New York law requires mandatory arbitration. The court appointed arbitration panel comprises one attorney and two non-attorneys. After the arbitration hearing, the arbitration panel determined the value of my legal services was $10,000. As the client refused to permit me to complete the matter, I refunded the balance of $5,000. In practicing in this area of the law for over 35 years, issues such as this, while rare, occur.
