Robert M. D'Angelillo

For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my practice to helping individuals and families with estate planning, estate administration, long-term care planning, and elder law matters. At Futterman Lanza, LLP, I guide my clients through the legal and financial challenges of planning for the future, ensuring they can access the care they need while preserving assets for their loved ones.

In addition to wills, trusts, and elder law planning, I work closely with families who have children or adults with special needs, assisting them in establishing guardianships while protecting essential government benefits. I also counsel clients on Medicaid eligibility, nursing home planning, and other long-term care solutions designed to protect both health and financial security.

Before joining Futterman Lanza, LLP, I led the Elder Law Division of a large Suffolk County firm and served as Principal Law Clerk to the Honorable Nicholas Figueroa in the New York State Supreme Court, New York County. Throughout my career, I have represented clients in all aspects of estate planning and elder law, from complex planning strategies to contested estate and trust matters.

I remain active in the community through my ongoing involvement with the Hofstra Law School Veterans Legal Assistance Project and by speaking regularly to special needs organizations, financial advisors, and community groups on estate planning and elder law topics.

I am admitted to practice in New York and a proud member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and Smithtown Chamber of Commerce. I primarily work from our Garden City office, and also meet with clients in our Smithtown and Bay Shore offices.
