With the help of Atty. Nicolas, I was finally able to obtain my child's certificate of citizenship. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful during the whole process. A few months ago, I learned about Atty. Nicolas Caraquel and IDream America through a colleague and her supervisor. I was informed by my colleague about a job opening in their school district, and I submitted my application. Prior to this, I was feeling dejected due to the fact that I already had... communicated with the same school district last year, 2020. The supervisor and I already have communicated. I was hired and we made arrangements. We were about to hire an immigration lawyer to process their EB petition for me. I was very excited. Unfortunately, the whole process came to a complete stop before it even started. This was due to the visa restrictions in the imposed in the U.S. due to the early stages of the pandemic surge. I had to wait for a long while until the visa restrictions are over before reapplying. The H1b visa restriction finally ended in March 2021, and I have completed my two-year home country residency since July 2020. By this time, I was in a very unsure and stressful state. I have no idea if the school is still willing to hire me. I summoned my courage and asked my colleague and emailed her supervisor. This was then when I got to know Atty. Caraquel and Idream America. I had a dream: That the next time I go back and work in the U.S., I would like to go there with my wife beside me. I do not want to leave her especially during this pandemic. My wife and I got married after I finished my 5th year as a J1 visa teacher which meant She never got the chance to live in the U.S. as my J2 dependent back then. Given the chance, I really would love to have her beside me the next time I go to the U.S. After I reached out to the school district and after verifying their intent to hire me, I immediately reached out to Atty. Caraquel told me a better idea: Go back to the U.S. under the H1b visa with my wife as my dependent (H4 visa). At first, I thought it will be a tough cookie. Caraquel and his Idream America crew proved to be much tougher than my perceived tough circumstance. But I held on to my hope that Atty. Caraquel is the answer to wife and I’s dream. The next two to three months of processing documents and waiting for results was grueling. However, Thanks to the school district’s dedication to hire me and Atty. Nic /Idream America’s patience and grit in handling our case, my wife and I finally had our dream come true: My wife and I’s visa got approved! Our interview only took us less than 5 minutes to complete and with only very few questions to answer. We can now officially say that from being a former J1 visa, I have transitioned to the H1b visa with my wife as my H4 dependent visa. Our dream came true and this was made possible through prayers and through the hard work and the dedication that Atty. Caraquel, Sir Romer, and the Idream staff put into our case. From day one of processing all the way to our interview date, they stayed by our side and made sure we have all the things we need to ensure a high rate of success at the embassy. We left the embassy with tears of joy flowing. We were joyful. Our long wait of more than three years now is almost over now that our visa has been granted.
