You need to deal with this ASAP. You made the situation worse. You have no evidence now that he was not bitten. Hopefully, their evidence is also...

This sounds a bit strange. people dispute charges all the time if they do not recognize the name of a merchant. There has to be more to this story....

Nothing drastic can happen to you. Hire an attorney who can favorably resolve them.

The place to get such an assurance is from the Federal Prosecutor. Tne State cannot bind the Federal.
