Sam resided at the Murray Center due to numerous disabilities. His mother was his guardian and was very involved in his care. She took him to hospitals and Drs for second opinions when she felt that ... he was not getting proper medical care. Murray Center did not like that and, for a number of reasons, sought to terminate the mother's guardianship. A trial was ultimately held. After the state presented it's evidence, the respondent asked for a directed finding showing that the state had not met their burden of proof in the case. The Mother won. The State failed to prove their case and the Mother's guardianship was not terminated.
