Mr. Mirvis, is dishonest lawyer, who pretends to possess knowledge to handle certain legal cases but lacks it. He will continue to delay until he finds a solution, if he does at all. He assured me that he would file my son’s motion within one week to try to rectify my sentence issues. He was hired o...n May 15 and I was given the run around until I pressed him on June 17 for answers. Then he replied with this message “I didn’t see your messages yesterday. The paperwork was sent out with a process server on Friday. I don’t have confirmation of service yet”. My response was as followed “Respectfully, sir, I find it hard to believe that you did not see my message from yesterday. Not only did I send you a message, but immediately after you silenced the notification on your phone, I also attempted to call you multiple times. Unfortunately, as usual, you chose to ignore my attempts to reach out. Consequently, I took it upon myself to contact the Supreme Court both yesterday and today to inquire about any filed papers on behalf of my son. Regrettably, the clerk informed me that no documents had been submitted. I explained my situation, and she expressed confusion as to why you opted to send the documents via a process server when it would have been quicker to file electronically given my son's circumstances. Please provide me with proof of a court filing or potential filing within the next two days. You can do so by emailing me copies of the court documents you presented to the process server for filing. If I do not receive them within the requested time frame, I will consider you ineffective counsel and request a full refund. It’s been five weeks and nothing been done!!! every day my son loses a day of freedom that being in state custody that he shouldn’t. He’s now up to eight months of lost time! Two days later, Mr. Mirvis sent me a screenshot showing that my son’s motion has been filed through the court EDDS system. With a message reading “I filed it on EDDS as well”. My response to the screenshot was as followed: “Your submission was made today at 2 AM this morning, not last Friday as you stated. I am perplexed as to why you provided us with false information regarding handing it over to a process server last Friday for court filing. I kindly request that you handle my son's case with the necessary urgency and respect it deserves. Thank you. He swiftly processed my son’s motion to prevent the return of my money. However, the motion, Mr. Mavis filed, was so poorly drafted that the court clerk refused to present it to the judge. He didn’t even inform us that there was an issue in the filing I found that out weeks later when I called the clerk’s office. . From that moment on, he continued to evade us. He claimed to be out of town, lacking the file in front of him, and citing a family emergency. We eventually gave up on him on August 27th and haven’t heard from him since. We’re not wealthy, and the money we paid Mr. Mirvis was difficult to obtain we sent Mr. Mirvis letter asking for the return about money with no response. Now, we’re in the process of attempting to recover it in other ways. Fortunately, we were fortunate enough to find a compassionate woman named Hanna Mcrea at the federal defenders’ office in Manhattan. Hanna took on my case. son’s case for free can’t give her enough praise!! that pay lawyers are better than free lawyers that is definitely not the truth. In this case stay away from Mr. Mirivs you’ll be sorry!!!!!
