I’m an attorney and the founder of Good Guy Legal. My practice focuses on landlord-tenant matters, estate planning, and complex commercial litigation in New York and New Jersey, including business and partnership disputes.
I represent residential and commercial landlords and tenants in eviction and nonpayment proceedings, rent-stabilization and overcharge matters, and disputes involving repairs, habitability, lease rights, and possession. I also represent individuals and businesses in complex commercial litigation, including contract, partnership, and fiduciary-duty disputes, and advise and represent condominium and homeowners’ association boards and managing agents. My experience includes numerous appearances across New York City’s Civil, Supreme, and Housing Courts—including proceedings involving emergency relief, contempt, and complex motion practice—as well as supporting matters in arbitration, federal court, and appellate court.
My estate-planning practice focuses on wills and trusts. I work closely with clients to understand what they want to accomplish, explain their options and the implications, and help them put a thoughtful and thorough plan in place for their assets and the people they care about.
I take a direct and deliberate approach to representation. I confront issues head-on—whether that means pushing back against unreasonable demands or holding the line in court when a client is being treated unfairly. I care deeply about my clients and the outcomes that affect their properties, businesses, families, and lives.
Clients trust me because I’m genuinely invested in their outcomes, always come prepared, and am unafraid to challenge an adversary—or authority—when warranted. At the same time, I understand that effective representation does not always mean taking the most forceful approach. It requires precision, sound judgment, and tact, as well as the ability to recognize what each matter actually calls for. I choose the approach best suited to each client’s circumstances and goals, whether that means decisive courtroom action, negotiation, careful drafting, or thoughtful planning.
I bring the same discipline and care to every matter, whether it involves a single apartment, a family’s estate plan, a business dispute, or a multimillion-dollar portfolio.
If you need an advocate who is genuinely invested in your outcome, strategic, and committed—I’m here to help.

Very experienced
We came to Michael over a potential property dispute. He made sure to answer all of our questions with clear, objective answers and gave his honest feedback regarding our case. He brought up things we did not even consider and helped bring us peace of mind.
