Patty Hurtado

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding my child's attorney, Patty Hurtado. Ms. Hurtado has represented my child for several years, but I believe she has not acted impartially. Although the other parent was arrested for physically abusing our child, I feel she has consistently treated h...im as the victim while portraying me, the custodial parent, unfairly during court proceedings. On July 31, 2026, Ms. Hurtado spoke with my child in a manner that caused significant emotional distress. My child cried after being told that I would go to jail or be punished. My child also reported that Ms. Hurtado made additional negative comments about me. I believe these statements were inappropriate, unprofessional, and harmful to my child's emotional well-being. I also believe Ms. Hurtado has demonstrated racial bias toward me as a dark Latina/Caribbean parent, preventing her from representing my child's best interests objectively. I reported these concerns to her supervisor, Ms. Kelly, but received no response. During the August 6, 2026, court hearing, Ms. Hurtado falsely stated that my child agreed to speak with the other parent and made additional inaccurate allegations against me. I respectfully request that she be removed from my child's case and that a new attorney be appointed to ensure fair, impartial representation.
