This attorney took a retainer fee of $5,000.00 from me for my divorce case. This was not a flat fee, she charged by the hour of $250.00. My divorce was a quick one, just show up in front of a judge a couple of times and signed a few papers. She showed up for me about four times and maybe a total o...f ten hours. At the time I retained her, she said she would returned any unused money to me. My divorce was granted in August of 2007 and I'm still waiting for her to return the balance to me. I called her several times but did not get to speak with her directly but instead spoke with her assistant who everytime promised to get to the paperwork and sent to me. Last time I spoke with her assistant was in January 2008, she promised to get the invoice and whatever remaining money to me within three week. It's now middle and still nothing.
