On December 7, 2024 at 12:40 AM, a IL state trooper was dispatched to a personal injury crash in the lane at I-55 Southbound South of IL-83. A DuPage County Sheriff's Office deputy observed the crash ... and caught it on his squad car in-car dash cam. Defendant driver was traveling at an excessive speed estimated over 100 mph, abruptly changed lanes and struck the rear end of Unit 2. Both vehicles suffered disabling damage. The driver of Unit 2 was transported to a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of Unit 1 was arrested for DUI and Reckless Driving. Defendant driver was found not guilty of both charges at trial.
