Steven Elliot Pegalis

I am the founding partner of Pegalis Law Group,LLC, and one of the nation’s foremost medical malpractice trial lawyers. In more than 50 years practicing law as an advocate for seriously injured victims of negligence, I have obtained some of the highest jury verdicts. I am most proud of providing peace of mind, a sense of justice, and financial security for more than 2,000 clients to date. Our firm develops a personal relationship with each client while seeking the best possible result for their particular situation. It is the team’s truly personal investment in each case that has brought about consistent success on behalf of so many patients, year after year. Stacks of thank-you notes and photos from clients and their families are among my most prized processions. I along with my firm, has worked tirelessly with some two thousand injured individuals and their families. For example: we obtained a $116 million jury verdict for a brain injured child. Some say I literally wrote the book on medical malpractice, as the author of American Law of Medical Malpractice, Volumes 1-3, now in its 3rd edition. I am an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York Law School teaching medical malpractice law, and serve on the school’s Board of Trustees. I am an advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocacy, a Dean of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the American Association for Justice, and a member of the National Board of Trial Advocacy. I am an Associate in Law of the American College of Legal Medicine, and AV rated on Martindale-Hubbell for professional excellence. I have been voted as one of the Best Lawyers® in New York and one of New York’s Super Lawyers. I have lectured extensively on medical/legal issues, and contributed to numerous articles and publications.
