You didnt mention whether you were a green card holder or USC - either way the quota is long and therefore USCIS will tale its time in adjudicating...

The I-495s would not be your applications they would be your parents. You would file I-130s for each of them as part of the Adjustment filings....

Since you arent in the US - you dont have a non immigrant status. You have a visa but no status.

Active review is a term meaning it is with an adjudicator ( along with 100s of other petitions) it could be weeks or months until you hear.
