LaToya McBean Pompy, Esq., is a nationally recognized immigration attorney and industry thought leader. Her work and accomplishments have garnered a growing list of accolades and media attention. Her law firm, McBean Law, PLLC, has been featured in an increasingly prestigious list of media outlets and publications, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, CNN, and Newsweek.
Her career began with working alongside federal, state, and local government and successful policymakers in the U.S. Department of Justice. She later worked with Members of Congress on the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security, and in the congressional offices of a U.S. Congressman and a U.S. Senator.
Early in her career, Attorney McBean Pompy worked on her first immigration case that involved a nine-year-old boy from El Salvador. He had made the dangerous journey to the U.S. after his father was brutally murdered for resisting a gang’s initiation efforts. She prepared an asylum case for her young client and represented him in an immigration court in Manhattan. She later helped his mother and brother with their asylum claims.
This case ignited a fire within Attorney McBean Pompy to form her own immigration law practice, McBean Law PLLC, so she could continue to help even more immigrants find their freedom in the U.S.
Her skill and success at connecting so well with her audience, while offering news and messaging that resonate with them, is often shaped by her own immigration journey. At 6 years old, she emigrated with her family from Jamaica, West Indies.
The memory of that time and experience has given her a keen appreciation for what immigrants may experience and helped inform her work as an attorney and her perspective on how best to provide them with sound and compassionate counsel.
Her online presence has consistently flourished through her YouTube channel, podcasts, and on an array of social media platforms. She routinely cuts through the online clutter with news and advice that are immediately impactful for the immigrant community, while conveying the importance of remaining informed, resolved, and prepared.
She shares breaking news and valuable information with distinct calm, clarity, warmth, and practical insights. This instinctive combination has proven invaluable to an audience seeking guidance, reassurance, and practical approaches.

Untrustworthy in terms of services and charges
Based on my personal experience, I was very disappointed with this law firm. I paid $1,500 and canceled my request after approximately one week, before signing the declaration they sent me or providing them with more than a brief description of my case. Almost two months after my cancellation reques...
