Stephen John Riebling

I came to Mr. Riebling after my previous attorney botched a post judgement case. He assured me he would would to settle my case fairly and timely. However, he did the opposite. Mr. Riebling never return my phone calls. In fact the only phone calls I received from him was a call made 15min before the... court conference. On the call he rushed through the entire phone conversation not listening to anything I had to say. At the conference he made many mistakes in relaying my case to the judge. He did not addressed any of my concerns. The judge stated for him to settle the case however he has been allowing my case to linger for over 4 months with no resolution. I paid him a retainer that should have been enough to cover the settlement however because he’s allowing the case to drag on, it has eaten up one retainer and now he’s asking to pay a second retainer. I do not suggest you waste your money and pull your hair out over an attorney that will take your money and give you no results. I should have noticed that the positive reviews are over 5 years ago. Today 2021 Mr. Reibling is a terrible attorney that I warning you to stay away from.

I hired this firm when I was arrested and charged with felony assault & criminal possession of a weapon in the Westchester County Court. Stephen Riebling represented me throughout the case and during the trial. He handled every aspect of my case professionally and was incredibly attentive to me, my f...amily and my case. Mr. Riebling answered all my questions promptly (even on weekends and evenings). Every time we went to court he was obviously well prepared and equipped to handle any issue that arose. His work in the courtroom was fantastic and I was eventually acquitted after a jury trial of all charges. I owe my life and freedom to him and his firm. I would highly recommend Stephen and the firm to anyone who needs a lawyer. They are excellent!

Communication was non-existant. I hired Mr. Riebling to cover my traffic court case becuase I could not appear in court myself. He postponed the date without notifying me, and never sent me the paperwork I was supposed to sign. Finally the day before the appearance he emailed me frantic stating he... needed me to sign the paper work...no kidding! Then after the appearance I heard nothing from him, even after I emailed him asking what the verdict was. Months later he contacts me stating I didnt pay my fine and attaches a letter he claimed he mailed me with my name misspelled and headed to a different name entirely. Very poor officework and communication. I would never trust this lawyer with anything in the future.

Stephen Riebling is an extremely talented trial attorney. His expertise is best seen in the actual courtroom, through his knowledge and wit he will make it clear to the jury what is the correct decision they should make . He emulates the audience he addressing so as not to appear pompous or arrogan...t. He always conducts himself in a very professional manner. In the client to lawyer relationship he is very easy to communicate with and expresses technical legal jargon in laymans language. Stephen's communication between client and lawyer is often kept to a absolute minimum. So it is possible that long periods of time may lapse between contacts, but I believe that Stephen does this to help keep your communication costs to a minimum. If it is important for Stephen to contact you, you can be sure he will. Much of the legal process is slow, tedious and methodical and nothing can usually be done to speed things up. But if you feel you must communicate more often, he is open to talk to you anytime he is available. As with anything that is important in your life you should assume the responsiblity to follow up on all important infomation given to your lawyer and ensure the appropriate action was taken in a timely manner. Remember, that your lawyer is not just a hired gun but is also your partner in your case and you must provide him with all appropriate information at the appropriate time and give him all the support that you can. There is no substitute for the team effort! I would definitely hire Stephen again should the need arise and should the case fall into his expertise. Stephen's honesty and integrity is second to none. I would trust him with my life. In fact, I did! NOTE: TO BEST HELP YOUR CASE MAKE SURE YOU KEEP EVERY SHRED OF EVIDENCE AND DOCUMENT YOUR CASE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE WITH NAMES, NAMES, DATES, TIMES etc. Your memory fades over long lenghts of time. Read your notes often to refresh your memory up to date of trial. Probably as long as 6 to 7 years from date of incident.
