My client who I must call John Doe was charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and false personation of police. He was charged with impersonating police and robbing drivers at gun point and dema ... nding money. When I first met the client he told me he was innocent. The problem was that the police pushed him to confess in writing. I began noticing many problems with the State's case. I ordered phone records and was able to prove that my client was out of town at the time of each incident. The physical description of my client was much different than my client's actual height and weight. After much wrangling, I was able to convince the prosecutors to dismiss the case against my client. Meanwhile, the co-defendant had plead guilty. I believed he was innocent as well. I was able to convince the prosecutor that he too was innocent and they vacated his guilty plea and dismissed his case. Both young men were facing 6-30 years and instead today have no criminal record at all.

18 year old male client charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault and facing up to 120 years in prison. The minimum sentence in the case was 12 years. The client admitted he had been involved in ... sexual conduct with underage girl but that no force was used. The alleged victim had bruises and other evidence of force. When I subpoenaed the medical records I found some inconsistencies in the story of the young female. She told doctors that some of the bruises were self-inflicted. I also obtained a letter she had written in which she seemed to admit that there was no force used. I had repeated meetings with the prosecutors to point out the weaknesses in the case. In the end, I was able to convince them to reduce the charges all the way down to unlawful restraint. This is a low level offense. My client who was looking at life time registration as a sex offender was now relieved of that obligation. He received a sentence of probation with no jail time.
