Noldon v. Saint Louis University
N/AOUTCOME: Defemse Verdict
Plaintiff mother claimed that her 7 year old had suffered a hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy during labor and delivery as a result of a delay in the progress of labor and the failure of the University o ... bstetrician to move towards a caesarian section delivery in a more timely manner. The defense position was that there was no failure of the baby to progress to delivery and that the child's injury was due to a metabolic, congenital disorder. Plaintiff mother claimed 14 million dollars was needed in the future to take care of the child and another 2 million dollars in lost income and pain and suffering. After deliberating for an hour and a half the St. Louis City jury returned a verdict for the University.
