Consulted with him regarding special education needs but we found him to be extremely rude, and he made insulting remarks about our race and religion. He gave poor advice, telling us that our case was “weak.” We took our legal needs elsewhere and have been successful. We are very happy with our new ...attorney.

We met Peter Hoffman at the lowest point in our lives. The day before our son was to attend a county funded preschool we were informed that the program did not employ anyone medically trained to insure the health & safety of our son. He was not allowed to attend the preschool program he was enrolled ...in which also provided all of his therapeutic services. The CPSE Meeting was awful & no solution was found. A week later, after meeting with several other attorneys, we met Peter Hoffman. He listened to us, gave us advice & instructions on what to write to our school district. He was direct, informative, helpful & kind all before we had agreed to hire him. He has always been direct, upfront & proactive with our son’s issues. Our journey to obtain the services denied to our son took a significant amount of time, however, without Peter our son would not have received any compensatory services for the year he was denied services. We appreciate everything Peter Hoffman has done on our son’s behave & highly recommended him to everyone.

Cannot recommend at all. I hired this man and at four hundred and ninety five an hour, I expected him to do the job he was hired to do. He did not accomplish that, he quit. He dragged a simple matter with medical diagnoses for close to a year and in the end did absolutely nothing but botch it in my ...opinion. He went way off target from what I hired him to do, then tried to blame me for not giving him strong evidence for how HE wanted it all to go. I was transparent from the start, and who's interest he was working for I have no idea, but in my opinion it wasn't mine. It was a very bad experience that further traumatized my child. He outright messed up medical diagnosis and documentation, as far as to say one did not exist (surprising even professional medical staff who wrote it months prior). He professionally advised keeping an item in the notice of claim after I told him it was incorrect. He could not explain himself as to how he messed up what I hired him to do even after he said it was simple, that he had a working relationship with my district and had worked with them before and had a cousin on the board. He couldn't explain how he missed the medical documention except to not answer my question and to offer to help a new attorney (considering my experince with his previous service, said no thank you). He also could not explain why he was trying to switch blame at the end, for a lack of evidence (after close to a year of him working this case mind you) for a path that he professionally chose this case to go in. Again, he should have stuck to what I hired him for. He even irritated my medical staff by his not filling out requests properly. Cannot reccomend.

I was a client of Peter Hoffman and utilized his services on a special education issue. I cannot recommend this attorney. He failed to adequately read contracts. For example, he overlooked a key clause. This clause released the district from all previous and future responsibilities as they rela...ted to the very issue we hired Mr. Hoffman. There were also problems with his billing. He promised us monthly bills. All we asked is that we be kept apprise of the hours being billed to us. There was only so much we could afford. We made Peter Hoffman aware of our concerns. He never billed us. He just had a bill collector call and demand more money to replenish our security deposit. Only then did we receive a bill. After that we took copious records and made recordings of our conversations. That was when we discovered his bill were not consistent with his actual work. In one instance he charged us for ½ hour or $250.00. We checked the recording and the call was under 1.5 minutes. That was when we released him. He conjured up reasons for keeping the majority of our security deposit. The worst part was that Mr. Hoffman attempted to bully us. He insisted that the only choice we had was to send our son away to an out of state school. Thank god that did not happen. After loosing $20,000; we feel so abused by Mr. Hoffman.

Peter was instrumental in obtaining the support necessary so that our child could attend the Special Education program that would allow him to grow and develop. Over the last 3 years, Peter went to bat for us against the school district and was able to negotiate a good deal so that we could afford t...his education for our child. Peter has always made himself available to attend IEP and CSE meetings with the District. As he was so well known in our District, his reputation preceded himself and was able to negotiate quickly, keeping our legal fees to a minimum. He really worked with us to get the best deal possible for our child. He put our child first, which is typically not the norm in the legal profession. At the end of this most recent 3-year deal, our child will be able to graduate High School and has the opportunity to actually go to and succeed in college. Peter's support alleviated the stress felt by our family and our child. Thank you Peter for your professionalism and no-nonsense attitude. Your approach was refreshing and effective.
