In the fall of 2020 I made an offer on a house my wife and I wanted to start our family in, so in good faith we put 20k down as our deposit and went through with the process. Unbeknownst to us there were sewer easements running through the front and rear of the property; we only found out this inform...ation about a week before our closing date. When our contract lawyer brought this to our attention he advised us that he put a clause in the contract so we would be able to squash the deal and retain our deposit.
