I assume that the ticket was not in NYC. Best practice is to hire an attorney and see if he will be able to get a reduction to a non-point violation.

The DA must be ready for trial on an A misdemeanor within 90 days of arraignment unless time was waived. If the supporting deposition is not...

Usually when a probation is considered to have been violated, the judge imposes a new sentence, in your case jail.

I would think that your chances were quite slim. Contempt of Court is not just domestic violence.
